Studio Vegt is a performance and theatre collective founded by sisters Lieke and Anne van der Vegt. Based in Zwolle, the Netherlands, they create transdisciplinary theatre, performance and opera, mostly in public space.

Studio Vegt creates work that is experimental in form, but always rooted in the real world. They are interested in what happens when theatre leaves the theatre. They like it the most when the city becomes the stage, passers-by become

the story, and everyday reality is turned into something weird.

Their work explores how we relate to one another in an increasingly fragmented society. Looking for the unseen, Studio Vegt creates performances that invite the audience to look again, listen differently and become part of it.

​

Both sisters graduated from Toneelacademie Maastricht: Lieke in Performance (2020) and Anne in Directing (2023). Their different practices, shared intuition and love for the absurd form the basis of a collaboration that moves freely between disciplines and formats.

From Zwolle, Studio Vegt works wherever there is space for something unexpected to happen.
